Turkish Airlines Mega Plane Order Delayed

Turkish Airlines is currently in the process of finalizing its plans for a significant aircraft order of 600 planes. An official announcement regarding this massive deal is not expected until the Paris Air Show in mid-June or potentially later, according to a knowledgeable source familiar with the matter.

The national flag carrier of Turkey is carefully determining the optimal combination of aircraft types and engines that will power these planes over the next decade. This decision-making process is part of its strategy to double its passenger count. However, the source emphasized that the details of these discussions are confidential and therefore requested to remain anonymous.

When it comes to the distribution of the order between Boeing Co. and Airbus SE, Turkish Airlines may not divide it equally. The company is aiming to acquire 400 narrowbody jets as well as 200 long-haul aircraft.
