The monetary limit for applications to Consumer Arbitration Committees has been increased. As of next year, provincial or district consumer arbitration committees will take charge in disputes with a value below 66 thousand TL.
The communiqué on the determination of a single amount by removing the monetary limit in the application to the Consumer Arbitration Committee was published in the Official Gazette. According to the regulation of the Ministry of Commerce, the monetary limit for the application to the Consumer Arbitration Committee was increased by 122.93 percent. Provincial or District Consumer Arbitration Committees will take charge in disputes with a value of less than 66 thousand TL in applications to be made for 2023. The jurisdiction of the Consumer Arbitration Committees and the division of labor will be determined by the Ministry of Commerce. Provincial Consumer Arbitration Committees will be authorized within the borders of the province, and District Consumer Arbitration Committees will be authorized within the boundaries of the district. In the districts where a Consumer Arbitration Committee has not been established, the Consumer Arbitration Committee determined for that district by the Ministry of Commerce will be in charge. Applications can be made to the Consumer Arbitration Committee where the consumer is located or where the consumer transaction is made.
