Veteran guard Vitaly Fridzon has joined Zenit St. Petersburg on a one-year deal, the club confirmed on Saturday.

Zenit announced the signing on Twitter: “The most influential driver of the Russian basketball soul Vitaly Fridzon is ready for new achievements in Saint Petersburg.”

The 34-year-old Russian spent last year with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar.

He averaged 4.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in five 7DAYS EuroCup games last season.

In the VTB League, he averaged 7.8 points, 1.4 rebounds, and one assist in 12 games.

Fridzon helped Russia’s CSKA Moscow win the 2016 EuroLeague title, and was also a member of the Russian national side that won bronze at the 2012 Olympics in London.
