USD 5.5 million support from the UAE company to the telecommunication sector in earthquake zones

United Arab Emirates telecommunications company Etisalat stated that it provided support worth 20 million dirhams (approximately 5.5 million dollars) to the telecommunications sector in the regions affected by the Kahramanmaraş-based earthquakes.

In the news in the official agency of the UAE, WAM, it was stated that Etisalat company sent telecommunication equipment to contribute to the reconstruction of the infrastructure in the regions hit by the earthquakes in Turkey. It was reported that this support was provided within the scope of the “Yiğit Süvari 2” operation, which was initiated by the order of the President of the UAE, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Etisalat company sent a total of 20 million dirhams (approximately 5.5 million dollars) worth of telecommunication equipment in the report, and it was stated that the said equipment would contribute to the elimination of damage to mobile operator base stations in earthquake-affected regions in friendly country Turkey. UAE telecommunications company Etisalat made free talks with Turkey and Syria for a week after the Kahramanmaraş-based earthquakes on 6 February. In line with the directives of UAE President Al Nahyan, the “Yiğit Süvari 2” operation was launched on February 7 to support the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
