Popular social media platform Twitter, while abandoning its iconic brand in favor of Elon Musk’s favorite letter “X,” its open-source competitor Mastodon has seen an increase in user numbers. In a recent post, Mastodon’s founder and CEO Eugen Rochko said, “Our monthly active user count has steadily increased to reach 2.1 million. We are not far from our last peak.”
