The BIST 100 index hit an all-time high with 5,542.33 points, and as of 13:00, it became 5,533.04 points with a gain of 78.25 points and 1.43 percent compared to the previous close. The total transaction volume stood at TL 44.3 billion. In the first half, the banking index gained 1.48 percent and the holding index gained 1.79 percent. Among the sector indices, the highest earner was construction with 4.36 percent, and the only one that declined was sports with 0.31 percent. Analysts stated that the markets in almost all of the Western countries were closed due to the Christmas holiday on the first trading day of the week, and that a quiet course was observed in the open markets with low trading volume. Emphasizing that it is necessary to be careful against the sharp fluctuations in the markets due to the Christmas holidays and year-end closing transactions, analysts noted that technically, the level of 5.550 in the BIST 100 index is the resistance, and the 5.400 and 5.340 points are in the support position.
