The Ministry of Commerce announced that measures to prevent price increases in clinker and cement and to ease the domestic supply of these products will be taken without delay.
The Ministry of Commerce took action for price increases in clinker and cement. In the written statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that the developments in the construction sector, which has an important weight in the economy and which directly and indirectly concerns many sectors and the welfare of the citizens, are closely followed by the Ministry and also monitored in terms of foreign trade. In the statement, it was stated that the exports of clinker and cement, which are used extensively in the construction industry, are followed closely in order to meet the domestic demand, and it was pointed out that these products were included in the “List of Goods for Export” on September 4, 2021, in order to ensure that the necessary measures can be taken on time. In the statement, the following was noted: “Due to the intense notifications to our Ministry that there has been a problem in the domestic supply of the aforementioned products, and the increases observed by our Ministry in the domestic sales prices of the mentioned products, especially in the last 1-2 months, we aim to prevent the price increases of these products and to ease the domestic supply of these products. “The measures that may be needed will be taken by our Ministry without delay. It is beneficial to inform the relevant parties that these measures will create in the market and that if the positive effects expected by our Ministry are not at the desired level, other measures will not be avoided in addition to the measures taken.”
