Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, made a statement regarding the retirement age group (EYT) regulation, which is awaited by millions of people.
Speaking during his visit to the AK Party Provincial Presidency in Bayburt, Bilgin said:
“EYT is a problem that concerns a wide audience. It is an issue that has been around since September 8, 1999, and we are solving it as well. This has come to the solution stage with long efforts. Many issues have dimensions. Apart from the financial aspect, they have technical dimensions. We are about to settle them, too. This month We are planning that it will be on the agenda of the Assembly after it is resolved.
ERDOĞAN SAID “WE WILL TAKE IT FROM OUR TABLE” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in his statement about EYT last week, used the phrase “We say let’s enter 2023 by removing this issue from our table”.
WHO IS COVERED BY EYT? The EYT regulation covers those who received insurance before September 8, 1999. It is unclear whether there will be an age requirement in the regulation.
The details of the arrangement are expected to be announced by the end of the month and to be discussed in the Parliament in the new year. The effective date of the EYT regulation is expected to be January 1, 2023.
