Wednesday rescued 110 migrants from struggling boats in the
Aegean Sea. One rescue took place off the coast of Dikili, in
Izmir Province, and involved 36 migrants travelling on a rubber
dinghy towards the southern area of the Greek island of Lesbo.
According to Ankara security sources cited by Anadolu, the boat
was illegally pushed back by the Greek Coast Guard. The Greek
government has consistently denied these persistent accusations.
Another 31 migrants headed toward Lesbo were rescued at sea
off the town of Ayvacik, further north on the Aegean coast.
Off the coast of Ayvalik, 43 other migrants headed to Lesbo
were brought back to land as they neared the small Turkish
island of Buyuk Maden in the Aegean.(ANSAmed). (ANSA).
