Ligue 1 team Lille are interested in signing Besiktas striker Burak Yilmaz, the club’s manager Christophe Galtier confirmed on Thursday.

In a press conference, the French manager said that the club are interested in adding Yilmaz to their roster but added there is still a long way to complete the signing.

Following the departure of French striker Loic Remy, the club are looking for a player to replace him with a similar style of play, Galtier said.

Over the course of his career, Turkish international Yilmaz has scored 230 goals in 440 matches.

In the 2019-20 season so far, the 35-year-old striker had 14 goals in 26 matches for Besiktas .
