Çankırı Mayor İsmail Hakkı Esen told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the Underground Salt City is a 5,000-year-old enterprise.

Expressing that they organized a festival for the first time this year and that they hosted a large number of visitors in 3 days, Esen said, “The number of our visits exceeded 500 thousand in 3 days. If Allah wills, we are targeting 1 million in 2023 Salt Fest. Here we are in a closed area of ​​18 thousand square meters. 150 meters underground. It has a stable temperature. No matter how hot or cold it is outside, we are faced with a temperature of 13-14 degrees inside.” he said.
