Customs penalties increased


Customs fines and overtime wages were increased at a revaluation rate of 122.93 percent.

The amount of irregularity penalty and overtime wages applied to those who violate the Customs Law and the legislation based on it were increased at the revaluation rate determined as 122.93 percent.

The Customs General Communiqué prepared by the Ministry of Commerce was published in the Official Gazette. With the Communiqué, some amounts included in the Customs Law and the relevant regulation were increased at the revaluation rate calculated as 122.93 percent. Accordingly, the irregularity penalties specified in the Law and Customs Regulation will be 523 liras as of January 1, 2023. On the other hand, the amounts in the Customs Regulation were also changed. The overtime fee at customs was determined as 48.67 liras for exports, 113.67 liras for other transactions, 113.67 liras for exports per truck for trucks with Turkish license plates, and 178.66 liras for other transactions. The monetary limits on customs, foreign trade regional directorates and the Ministry’s refund or removal of customs duties were also increased. The Communiqué will enter into force from 1 January 2023.
