LAST MINUTE NEWS: Minister of Labor and Social Security Bilgin made a statement regarding the EYT regulation. Stating that the technical work has been completed, Bilgin said, “The issue is out of our hands. It is now a decision to be made by politics to come to the parliament’s agenda.”
Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, answered the question about the regulation on Age at Retirement (EYT). Speaking after the Cabinet Meeting yesterday, Bilgin said, “The matter is now out of our hands in the Assembly group. The technical work has been completed, it is now a decision for politics to come to the Assembly’s agenda.”
PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN SAID ‘Soon’ President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his statement after the Cabinet, announced that the EYT would be presented to the Parliament in the near future. President Erdoğan said, “We shared the EYT arrangement with the public on December 28. We present the work that will solve the problems of millions of our citizens without any limitations, to the appreciation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey soon.”
WHO IS COVERED BY EYT? EYT covers those who entered insurance before September 8, 1999. Those who start work before this date will be entitled to retirement when they complete the premium day and insurance period, regardless of age.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE RETIRED? With the enactment of the law, more than 2.2 million people will be able to retire in the first place.
