While the growth performance of the Turkish economy slowed in the last part of the year in 2022, the high course of inflation continued. While record deficits were recorded in foreign trade, it was observed that the current account balance gave a deficit due to the rising bill of energy imports. Excluding the last parts of the year, the employment market showed a very tight outlook. Unemployment rates were in the single digits.
